how to save a new number from a call in my 2024 Trailblazer LT?

I recently took a call from an unsaved number directly through the car's system, which was super convenient. But after the call ended, I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to save that number to my phone's contacts directly from the infotainment system. I looked through the menus on the touchscreen and briefly skimmed the owner's manual, but didn't see an obvious option.

Am I missing a button or a specific menu flow? It seems like a pretty basic and essential feature for hands-free calling. I don't want to have to remember the number or pull out my phone after every new call to save it manually.

For those who also have a 2024 Trailblazer LT or different trim with the similar tech, is there a way to save an unsaved incoming number to your phone's contacts right from the car? I'd appreciate getting tips or step-by-step instructions!

A colleague of mine spent weeks trying to figure this out, digging through the menu and the user manual only to find that there's no way to do it. It seems that the system doesn't sync with the contacts so you'll need to do it through your phone.

Unfortunately on most GM vehicles including the 2024 Trailblazer, the system is designed for a one-way sync. It pulls your contacts from your phone to display them on the screen, but it doesn't have the functionality to push new contact information back to the phone. So the only practical option I can think of is for you to check your phone's recent calls list after you finish your drive and add the number from there manually into your phone. I know it's not the seamless experience you'd expect but that's the current system they have now.

You can view recent calls on the screen, but saving has to be done on the phone itself, just pull up the recent calls list on your phone after the drive and add it to contacts from there
