Many GM vehicles since 2016 have a "shift to park" error caused by a bad switch inside the shifter and dealers charge $500–$800 to replace the entire shifter, which is often backordered but you can fix it yourself by replacing just the switch for about $3.80 using basic tools and a soldering gun. I fixed mine on a 2021 Trailblazer, and it's worked perfectly since. I even bought extra switches to keep on hand, this simple repair saves time and money compared to dealer service

Fantastic tip, that's a huge money-saver! It's frustrating to see dealers push for expensive, full-unit replacements when a simple component is the real problem.

Good tip. Replacing just the switch yourself is definitely a huge time and money saver compared to the dealer fix . Glad to hear its worked well on your Trailblazer, and keeping spares on hand is smart in case it pops up again.
