DIY dead pedal cover has anyone tried this?

I've noticed that our Trailblazers don't have any kind of cover over the dead pedal, just the carpet, which is bound to get dirty and wear out eventually. I'm considering making a simple DIY cover for it. Has anyone else attempted something like this? Or do you think it's not really worth the effort? I'd love to hear any ideas you all have or your opinions on if it really needs some protection

Yeah ive noticed that too, mine's already starting to show some wear so to speak. I think a DIY cover is a good idea, especially if you drive a lot or tend to track in dirt. Even something simple like a rubber or metal plate could also make a big difference in protecting the carpet long term.

I got a 2024 Trailblazer LT and had the same concern. Instead of DIY, I had a local shop do a full custom pedal setup for me, including a matching dead pedal cover!

If I'm not mistaken all trailblazers come with carpet mats, so things will get dirty either way. You could upgrade to some rubber mats and see if there are models that cover the dead pedal as well.
